About the Jack Russell Terrier
Before you decide to have a Jack Russell Terrier in your home, please make sure that you can provide all the attention and needs that it required. Even though the Jack Russell is a small dog, it has more energy, and attitude then you could ever imagine.

The Jack Russell Terrier is a great companion and friend. The Jack Russell is one of the most intelligent dogs on the planet. Jack Russell’s were originally used for hunting below ground, so they are likely to chase after another animal or squirrel. Jack Russells love to dig and can escape easily under a poorly built fence area, they can even jump up to 4 feet from a standing position and are also great climbers.

Jack Russell’s do not always work well with small children as they do not tolerate rough treatment, like having their ears pulled on, etc. The Jack Russell is not a “yapper” but will certainly bark at noises or when someone comes to the door.

Be sure to puppy proof your home, Jacks for example are natural diggers so houseplants and garden plants should be placed out of reach, especially since some of them can be deadly if eaten. Jack Russells love crates and use them as little homes even after they are potty trained.

Jack Russell Terriers require a lot of exercise and will follow closely at your heels around your home.
